14 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Power-folk, BLUES: Acoustic Blues

Details:
This acoustic blues and folk based trio were born from the love and need of playing, writing, and performing. The group members, including Larry and Rhonda Jackson, along with Candis Wilson are all veterans of the stage and have performed well over three hundred gigs in the last four years since the forming of this group. However the true beginning of this group starts over fifteen years ago when Candis became the bass player in the already established Go-Cart Rides a boogie and blues trio, fronted by Jackson’s guitar and vocals. That group had the good fortune to maintain a hundred plus gigs a year, tour Europe, and be a part of many festivals, as well as opening for a multitude of well known blues acts and performing on several live radio shows and cable TV.

From Larry; With all this background I’m sure that you, as well as my close friends, and fans, expected this, our new CD to be a blues album, it’s not. Although for over twenty years the blues have been my passion and will always remain so. I was raised on folk and country and very influenced by jazz and funk. Some of the songs on this project I’ve been playing over thirty years. They are a collection of the songs that I felt needed to be recorded, but just did not belong on a blues album. This was my first full length CD to record and produce on my own, and it’s my hope that these songs will find a place in your life. By the way I am currently working on a new acoustic all blues album, due out at the end of the year. Thanks, LJ.

Larry Jackson; singer, songwriter, guitarist
Born 1950 to Velma and GR Jackson, my family came from Oklahoma on the Arkansas border, during the Dust Bowl era. My dad learned to play and sing from his mom and passed it along to me. At age five my sister and I started performing duets in church and continued almost every week until I was thirteen. Until then it was gospel hymns, country and my sisters 1950’s pop. Then I was exposed through my best friend’s mom’s record collection to Lightin Hopkins and Ray Charles and my life changed. I’m no guitar virtuoso but I do play what I feel, and I sing from my heart and I’ve been doing it all my life.

Candis Wilson; singer, bassist
Candis has sat in with more bands than anyone I know, singing virtually all her life in church choir and taking up the bass under the guidance of Reggie Chavez. She has worked relentlessly at her craft for over 18 years, performing thousands of hours. I’ve seen her play until her fingers would bleed. This woman is my bass player, and I’m happy to say my friend.

Rhonda Jackson; singer, conga player, percussionist
Besides having an uncanny ability to listen to the music and find the right beats, the right sounds to create a mood that enhances each song with a finesse befitting its own unique style, she also brings to the group an energy that sustains the groove. Although she has only been performing for the last six years, she has been drumming her whole life, and takes to the stage like she was born there.
