Details:
East coast guitarrorist Paul Wayne (right) has joined forces with Seattle musician/producer team Geoff Ott (center) and Jonathan Plum (left) to bring you RipSpacer. This fortuitous line-up offers the full rock experience with explosive guitar-laced attack and release. Influences include: Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., REM, and The Who. This cache of influence combined with Dylanesque / Keroucian lyrics by Paul Wayne express the post-millennial fire that is RipSpacer.

The fall of the two towers in 2001 prompted a return visit to Seattle by Paul Wayne (former guitarist for NYC’s indie-noise-rock queen Barbiana Complex) to the Northwest to pursue a Pro-tools internship with renowned music producer Jonathan Plum. The internship turned into a working-relationship at which time EXCESS IN MODERATION (w/ Jonathan Plum on the traps) hatched and grew into the 5 song demo released in 2004. The addition of Geoff Ott on bass in 2006 catapulted RipSpacer into a fledgling power-trio searching for it’s own sound.

RipSpacer has been diligently running the gauntlet of local Seattle clubs, honing its skills and upping the ante with every performance. The album MULTIVERSE began to materialize in early 2006 when Jonathan and Geoff moved their studio operations from downtown to London Bridge Studio in north Seattle. London Bridge sat idle and nearly empty for the first few months which gave the fledgling rock-trio the very unique opportunity to hammer out the kinks.

The new self-produced album titled MULTIVERSE was written, performed, recorded, and mixed between May 2006 and February 2007 at London Bridge Studio. The album rocks through the 8 song jauggernaught working the verse-chorus-bridge routine with a blues scale turned so far inside out that you’d be hard pressed to find it. RipSpacer’s music is the sound of Paul’s growling tube-stung slabs of chordal punk-riffs paired with the deep-driven bass runs of Geoff Ott backed by the Moon like drumming of Jonathan Plum, poignantly saddled with Paul’s immediate vocal styling and Jonathan’s sly harmonies.

The band holds a collective fascination with the bridge between science and art. RipSpacer play passion felt rock with the lyrical emphasis exploring the ideas of love & hate, right & wrong, left & right. Born out of the idea that we live in a world where satellites watch our every move, RipSpacer strive to reflect the idea that our actions hold consequences that reach far beyond anything we could have ever imagined.
