Details:
Formed by singer guitarists Rob Herian and Dan Frost, drummer Sam Roberts and bassist Ben Tat in 2005, the London based band became known as Elks in late 2006. The idea was always to combine the music each member loved enough to play and see what came out at the end. The result to date is music that is always evolving, taking chances and refusing to sit still in any specific style or scene.

Elks have been playing live regularly since November 2006 including a number of UK dates from Brighton to Glasgow as well as a series of successful European dates in Holland, Germany & Austria at the beginning of 2007. The live show, like the music, always proves a little hard to second guess, but never fails to be explosive and entertaining.

In December 2006 the recently recorded track Wide Avenues was included on the Unlabel Records compilation Hundrum, and following this in March 2007 the band self released a debut double A-side single, Wide Avenues/Bells, to accompany the live shows in Europe and the UK.

What now? For the rest of 2007 and into 2008 Elks will be returning to Europe for more live shows, making a couple of videos to accompany the songs Wide Avenues & Bells from the first single, recording a bunch of new songs & putting an EP together before trailing the motorways of the UK to promote it. Generally keeping busy and enjoying it!
