Details:
"Watching a performance by Nobody’s Darlin’ conjures up the essence of a simpler time, before electric guitars and pyrotechnics. The sound of Nobody’s Darlin’ strong female voices meld fluidly over acoustic instruments that resonate true string instrument tones." -from https://www.tradebit.com

Nobody''s Darlin is an all-girl string band based in Grand Rapids, MI. We specialize in Old Timey, Bluegrass, and Gospel. Sometimes we also throw in some classic country tunes just for fun! The group was formed in 2004.

We love old theaters, new boots, good wine, great conversation, old songs, new friends, long drives in the country, short walks in the city, old movies, new lipstick, nice-fitting jeans, laughter, good food, dogs, cats, festivals of any kind, cold beer, free sandwiches, senior citizens, new babies, gourmet coffee, going barefoot (except Janet), and obviously making music.

Here are a few nice things that some really nice people have said about us!

“Jump back all you ol'' bluegrass boys ''cause Nobody''s Darlin'' is nobody''s fool! This all-woman band can go head to head with the guys. Lovely, tight harmonies, winsome fiddle, clawhammer banjo, stand-up bass and guitar all embellish old-timey tunes and frolicsome melodies with a light-hearted touch. Thoroughly enjoyable!”

-Elizabeth Paxson, co-owner Open Door Music, Saugatuck, MI; vocalist; co-founder & concert producer, Hogeye Folk Arts, Evanston, IL; co-producer Venetian Festival Bluff (folk & blues) Stage, St. Joseph MI

“Nobody ever talks about it, but the American musical tradition is based on family friendly danger. Nobody''s Darlin'' is one of the best examples of that tradition in existence today. Don''t be fooled by their sweet harmonies and charming demeanor -- these women are tremendous pickers whose performances are a raucous, ass-kicking good time. They''ll keep the hipster kids satisfied and will bring a mischievous smile to grandma''s face, too.”

-- Brian J. Bowe, editor CREEM Magazine

“WMO, Traditional Arts Weekend 2006----After conducting workshops in Clawhammer Banjo and Women in Old-Timey Music during the day, Nobody''s Darlin'' took the Wheatland stage for the evening concert. Their rich harmony was equally good on old tunes like The Cuckoo and Ernest Tubb''s Thanks A Lot. An enthusiastic and entertaining performance!”

--Jeanne Fitzner, on behalf of WMO Community Ed. Committee, https://www.tradebit.com

“Too often female artists performing contemporary acoustic music fall into a post-Lilith Fair trap of sameness. But Nobody’s Darlin’ looks way past Sarah MacLachlan for inspiration, instead channeling the Carter Family and Kitty Wells in a refreshingly authentic blend of bluegrass and old time-y country music.”

— Curt Wozniak, Grand Rapids Magazine
