Details:
Stepping in a feeling of familiarity and comfort is in tandem with a sense of uneasiness and the unknown.
Knowing that you haven''t been to this place before although some sort of Deja Vu would indicate
otherwise. Rich hues of crimson, olive, amber, and gold breathing life into memories
of those lost into spaces untouched. These walls adorned with imagery of events past and places real yet surreal in relation to our own pasts. Having played host to celebration, deception, requiem, and reunion,
this is a place entrenched in the ideals of starting over what has already taken place as to experience and alter for the purpose of what could have been. This relentless pursuit for the full understanding of the five senses to achieve the sixth is what we call The Carbon Parlor.
Five unique individuals of particular strengths have united in this desire to express a spectrum
of possibilities and unlimited musical outcomes representing this ideal. Varied backgrounds consisting of rock, jazz, metal, urban, and pop lend their experience to each song crafted with techniques independent of the last. The goal is to attain a completely whole experience through piecing together but some of the infinite components of song.
Cameron Kellenberger (Vocals) and Steve Sheppard (Rhythm Guitar) have their background in more aggressive stylings having both played in one of Milwaukee''s most recognized original metal bands, Roast. The experience gained playing well over 200 shows at home and
abroad over Roast''s four-year stint
lends its strength to the live performances of the Carbon Parlor with such skills as positive crowd interaction and stage comfort. With Roast having opened up shows for national touring acts as diversely ranged as Ministry,Saliva,
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, the Cult, Buckcherry,
Gravity Kills, Clutch, COC, etc. and performing in front of crowds well over 1,000 attendants in forums from Milwaukee''s annual Summerfest to the Mojeska Theater and the Rave, Cameron and Steve are no strangers to " the big shows" and what it takes to win over fans of a variety of different genres.
To compliment the battle tested nature of Cameron and Steve, Richard Czebotar (Lead Guitar), Martin Van Beek (Bass Guitar), and Brian Dekeuster (Drums) bring a background deep in a variety of musical theory techniques. All three members separately having worked in projects styled in classic rock (Richard),
Funk (Martin), and Fusion (Brian) bring their musical knowledge and writing experience together to obtain
songs for the Carbon Parlor styled in a vein not easily categorized. Their collective desire to explore mood and vibe in music at the risk of toppling the walls that surround what is musically acceptable, is a key strength of three very essential components of the Carbon Parlor.
Already credited in less than one year''s time with headlining shows at the Rave in Milwaukee, due in part to a fiercely dedicated fanbase rooted in mutual respect between the fans and the performer, as well as playing Madison''s Maximum Ink magazine''s famed Bomblastica birthday party show, the Carbon Parlor show no signs of slowing their progression down. The debut self titled EP due out in Spring of 2003 should only help to catapult this band further into attaining the success oriented goals that they have set.
With the hard work ethic and humbleness characteristics typical of Midwest upbringings
backing the sensory exploration of music''s infinite possibilities there is no immediate end as to what the Carbon Parlor has potential to achieve.
