MP3 Zombie Records - Lo-Fi Classics Volume One

Insane Texas indie music that defies description. Twisted punk, outrageous electronic music, just plain WRONG sounds from the heart of San Antonio. Beware.

27 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Industrial, POP: New Wave

Details:
The story of Zombie Records began in Misawa, Japan in 1993 when founder Joe Wallace decided to write, record, and distribute snotty punk and experimental music during his stretch as an enlisted member of the United States Air Force.

He recorded a vast amount of material in Japan with his fellow band mates in Toilet, 662 Crew, and on his own as Opinion8. In fact, all of the material was recorded while Wallace was on active duty in the Air Force, including the songs "With Enough Shovels" with its anti-republican sentiments, "(I Want A) Dishonorable Discharge," and "Kill For Money".

Toilet was Wallace, and fellow military pals Jamie Hodgins, Morgan Penney, and Jeff Westfahl. Westfahl left to do other projects and drink coffee, Hodgins was relocated to the USA, and eventually, so was Penney. Toilet was effectively over, but Wallace continued to record as Opinion8.

Wallace relocated to San Antonio, Texas and started playing shows as Opinion8 and the collective Paisley Babylon. Paisley Babylon began as a group with Lysergic Dream founder Greg Nelson, but Wallace later took PB as a solo effort for 1997''s The Alpha Wave Variations.

Toilet reformed briefly in Texas with drummer Jamie Hodgins, and some recordings were made, but those are best saved for another album. Wallace left the military (honorably) in 2003, and decided that the world was finally ready for his collection of insane, lo-fi monsterpieces.

Today, Zombie Records is back, Wallace is recording again, and he hopes to tempt his dear old buddies Jamie Hodgins and Greg Nelson back into the recording game for more musical lunacy.
