Dottie Rager has a distinctive sound and classic style that brings new life to that old feeling of country music. Her sultry voice resonates with hints of country classics and a pure pleasure of music from days gone by. “Dottie has a distinctive voice, setting her apart from the rest of the pack.” Julie Goddey/ KZKX 96 KIX

Dottie explains Gone But Not Forgotten, the title of her debut CD as, "That''s how I feel about traditional classic country music that I love. That it’s gone - it doesn''t get a lot of radio air play, a lot of people don''t cut it or write it anymore but if people such as myself keep it alive and have a passion for it, it will never be forgotten."
On this CD, Dottie''s brought in legendary singers like the Jordanaires and chosen songs from Harlan Howard and Billy Walker’s ("I’m Down to My Last Cigarette") and Dickey Lee’s ("He Thinks I Still Care") to bring that classic sound forward with her own renditions. She’s produced this project and has written four of the eleven tracks. Indeed, Ray Walker of the Jordanaires said of Dottie, "For a young lady, you have an old soul. Thank you for bringing us into the future!”

Dottie’s old soul was nurtured in the heartland of America, on a farm in a small town in Nebraska. Growing up she was influenced by her Dad’s taste in music. “My sister’s and I wore out Dad’s records listening to Marty Robbins, Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard and the Everly Brothers. People like Waylon Jennings - from the very first note you knew it was them - they had a gift," Dottie says. "And I know that God''s still making those people but we unfortunately don''t get to hear them anymore."

Dottie eventually found her way to Nashville and began working for several successful writers and music publishers as well as working in radio and promotions. She’s worked for renowned industry veterans as the late Sam Phillips and Buddy Killen. Her work experience in the music industry has given her many opportunities to learn about the business and hone her own songwriting skills and a musical voice with real honesty and integrity.

Dottie Rager puts a unique style into her writing and her soaked in emotion performance gives a refreshing signature to country music.

“Such depth to your voice. I was knocked out, it’s so good.”
