KEENAN
Powerful, anointed, soulful, and heart-warming, are just a few adjectives that some would describe the sound that is Keenan. Born and raised in East St Louis, IL, Keenan used music as his medicine to ease the pain growing up in the inner city. Since the age of eight years old, Keenan has been lifting up God’s praises with a powerful conviction. Named the “little boy with the big voice”, it was clear that God had created and called him to catch the attention of his people. Keenan began his strenuous vocal training in high school learning Classical, Latin, and many others genres of music. It was there he became an Illinois All-State soloist, receiving numerous awards throughout his high school years. Keenan earned a choral scholarship to Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga. This would prepare him for his journey ahead into God’s will for his life. Keenan began directing choirs, writing songs, and remixing Sunday music that would take great notice by his fellow followers. In 2001, Keenan released his first project entitled “THIS IS MY STORY”. He would later place second in the male vocalist category at the KFC Gospel Artist Showcase in Birmingham, AL with his powerful self-written single, “GETTING TO HEAVEN” off the same project. From the Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta, Ga. to the Hosea Williams’s FEED The Hungry, “THIS IS MY STORY” has allowed Keenan the opportunity to minister to those with an ear to hear God’s word. 2007 now brings us full circle into Keenan’s life, with a new project offering people a window into his soul to hear God’s word through God’s chosen vessel. This ministry is about living our everyday life with him or struggling through life without him. The new project, releasing May 2007, is entitled “I WANNA LIVE”. This project is sure to move you, touch you, and give you those helpful words of encouragement for your personal trials and tribulations. God has prepared Keenan for such a time as this. Witness the anointing of the Holy Spirit from the voice and heart that God made.
