Details:
Cell Division was founded in Zürich, Switzerland in the year 1995 by four people coming from different musical backgrounds. All had been playing in various bands and projects before but were still looking for the band where they could play the music they really wanted to. This was found in Cell Division and the band takes pleasure in producing and perfectioning its own and unique musical stile and expression. In 2001 former lead singer Yvette G. left the band for private reasons and since then Gelgia C. is enchanting the songs of Cell Division as the new lead singer with her diverse and expressive voice. The studio recordings for the upcoming album „tsunami" were finished at the end of 2003 in Berlin and as a first release the maxi-single „hypnotized" with several remixes (e.g. from Sven Friedrich) will be in stores shortly before the album at the beginning of May 2004. A videoclip to the single has already been filmed by director Giacun Caduff from Los Angeles.

The songs from the upcoming album „tsunami" (release: 5.17.04) are strongly influenced by the band''s new perception of songwriting. The music has become more consistent, with less different parts. The marked preference for a sombre prevailing mood is still there, but many songs were written with a catchy chorus. Neither has the affection for hard guitars died down, so the songs still rock, especially at live performances. The new lead singer Gelgia C. guides through the songs with her delightfully sentimental voice. Thommy Hein from Berlin was responsible for the production, giving the album a distinctive touch. With Sven Friedrich (Zeraphine) who recorded a duet with Gelgia and contributed in keyboard programming, another highly talented musician could be won for the production of „tsunami".
