If there is an artist today that espouses the notion of staying true to himself it is Marc Matthew Czygan of Plastic Shapes.
Surrounded by a seemingly endless multitude of bands that build their entire existence upon a strict doctrine of imitation, the artist behind this new sound is worlds apart.
Indeed the music seems to be a breath of fresh air amidst the myriad emo incarnations. Increasingly disillusioned by, as Czygan had put it, "an inherent lack of originality," that some bands are offering these days, this artist sets no boundaries.
"Genres come and go," says Czygan, "why fall into that trap?"
You will find hints of many different genres incorporated into the music of Plastic Shapes--including Electro, Rock, Indie, Metal, New Wave and Blues, among others--all arranged into a catchy and unique sound.
"I certainly don''t limit myself to a distinct genre," says Czygan. "Wouldn''t that be boring?"
