Jason formed Puddy Tat in the summer before the 2004 presidential election, releasing the incendiary anti-Bush indictment “In Shambles (A Cowboy Loose on the Range).” LA Weekly praised the song as a “musically excellent XTC-ish pop mini-symphony.” The song was liberally distributed at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. In fall 2005, Puddy Tat completed the EP “Not Declawed,” continuing where their Rock the Regime Change 2004 campaign left off.
