MP3 Adrian Baker - Runaway Tracks

After many years of touring with the Beach Boys band, Adrian releases his brand new CD.

14 MP3 Songs
POP: 60''s Pop, POP: California Pop

Details:
"Runaway Tracks," Adrian''s sixth solo album, features original compositions, a new version of his hit song, "Sherry, and covers of Lou Christie''s, "Lightning Strikes," Del Shannon’s “Runaway,” and even George and Ira Gershwin’s, “I Got Rhythm."

The seven original songs (two co-written with British musician Martin Lawford) further demonstrate Adrian''s gift for crafting catchy pop hooks, dynamic riffs and infectious melodies that propelled him to the top of the British charts in the 70s.

Standouts on this cd include the Queen-influenced “A Word Called Love,” the soulful guitar and rich vocal harmonies of “Accept My Love,” a joyous celebration of driving down “Pacific Coast Highway #1” and “So You Wanna Be A Star,” a track with echoes of Bob Fosse’s “All That Jazz,“ which suggests that Baker could carve out a third career on Broadway.

Other original songs include “Don''t Look Back”, a surprisingly hopeful tale of overcoming lost love; “Back In 65,” a loving look back at the first British rock revolution; and “Story ''bout A Song,” which could be Adrian''s answer to Paul McCartney’s “Silly Love Songs,” or even Bruce Johnston’s “I Write The Songs.”

Despite the wide diversity of styles encompassed by "Runaway Tracks," Adrian''s tight vocal harmonies and virtuoso musicianship hold the album together beautifully.

Produced, arranged and engineered by Adrian Baker.
Production co-ordination by Tom Martin.
