**Cheap Shot Bio**
Cheap Shot, straight out of Staten Island, New York, is one of New York''s greatest up and coming hard-core/metal bands. When it comes to creativity and stage presence they can be compared to most of today''s top acts. Some of their influences include bands like Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne and Atreyu. With their mixed flavor of hard-core/metal and super energetic performances many believe these guys are unstoppable.
Cheap Shot has come a long way from when they first started back in 1999. Being a metal band starting out in a music community that was predominately made up of punk bands, caused some conflicts. They were looked down upon because they were considered too "main stream" for the music scene. Despite the conflicts Cheap Shot still continued on playing the music they loved and continued to grow by writing better and heavier songs each step of the way. After playing shows since 2002 and with the release of three demos (denigrate 2002, born again 2003 and When Hope Dies... 2004), Cheap Shot has finally started becoming noticed for what they are capable of doing. Their single Acting On A Lie (off of born again) has become a popular request on New York radio station WSIA 88.9 FM. They have spread their music out to more and more people by preforming at venues such as L''amour in Brooklyn, NY; Krome in New Jersey; Redzone in Queens,NY; the Knitting Factory in NYC; Dockstreet on Staten Island, NY and CBGBs in NYC.
Today Cheap Shot is now establishing a big name for themselves becoming more of a household name everyday. Recently becoming a part of Down Star Productions (https://www.tradebit.com), they are able to get themselves out there even more. Cheap Shot has reached audiences and gained fans all over the US, such as Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, Oregon, etc. They even have reached audiences outside of the US, such as Australia and Scotland. Cheap Shot has built up a good following and continues to gain new fans each and everyday.
**Recent Accomplishments**
-Released their first demo entitled "Denigrate" in August of 2002.
-In 2002 "Take It Away" (off of Denigrate) made its way to #1 on New York''s Wave Radio (https://www.tradebit.com)
-Hosted and played the Battle of the Bands at Cromwell Community center on Staten Island, NY to raise money for the center. (May 2002)
-Played a benefit show for the Fight Against Cancer at Wagner College on Staten Island, NY (June 28th 2003)
- Released their second demo "born again" in July of 2003.
-The single entitled "Acting On A Lie" (off of born again) became a popular request and continues to be one on the New York station WSIA, 88.9 FM.
- Cheap Shot became a part of Down Star Productions (https://www.tradebit.com) in early 2004.
- Hosted and played the Battles of the Bands 2 at Cromwell. (Jan 2004)
