MP3 Chameleon - Some Kind of Monster

Lou Reed meets The Ramones, with a sprinkling of Guns n’ Roses and angsty Jim Morrison-esque vocals. Rootsy rock with a sense of groove, a touch of heavy metal and a nice vocal turn of phrase.

6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Hard Rock

Details:
Chameleon is New Zealand indie rock at its best and most accessible. New Zealand has long been a breeding ground for international pop and rock music legends including Crowded House, Shihad, Split Enz and The Datsuns.

Chameleon’s music has heart and soul and takes the listener on a musical adventure - from the Heavy Metal lightning strike of the title track ‘Some Kind of Monster’ to the instrumental guitar picking of the last track ''Travelling South''. It’s the exciting, edgy kind of rock music that makes you wanna turn up the car stereo, head onto the highway and drive fast!

Think Lou Reed meets The Ramones, with a sprinkling of Guns n’ Roses and angsty Jim Morrison-esque vocals. It''s rootsy rock with a sense of groove, a touch of heavy metal and a nice vocal turn of phrase.

Chameleon''s debut EP ''Some Kind of Monster'' is a rollcall of scary creatures, intriguing stories and love songs.

Features the singles:

PLASTICINE
With a blistering Santana-style guitar solo right off out of the shoot this one is sure to rock your pants off! It’s a twisted tale of love gone wrong, delivered with a Jim Morrison-esque vocal quality.

NEW LIGHT
The guitars have a wide, psychedelic sound and there’s a cool live rock vibe to the drums (think Beach Boys meets The Ramones, sung by Lou Reed). Lyrically it’s an upbeat song about finding new love.

EGOTRIPPERS
A pointed, G n’ R style tune that starts out like a quiet one at the pub but gets rowdy fast! Lyrically, it’s an acerbic one-finger salute to extremely egocentric individuals (those fully wrapped up in a narcissistic and self-absorbed type of solipsism). The apocalyptic second guitar solo sounds like U2 heralding the end of the world. Such edge and dissonance at the same time is truly cathartic and spellbinding.

Give it a listen!
