Osnabrooklyn’s most unfamous underground rock band is hittin you with a sound of full-flavoured stoner guitars and a voice full of soul. Miss Julie’s energetic and yet sensual voice fused with a phat and heavy guitar and bass sound makes up the heart of the Gravel Juice experience. Rounded off with a funky bass line, your audio cocktail for the night is ready to serve. Osnabrück’s City Magazine states: “Gravel Juice are Osnabrück’s reply to Skunk Anansie and No Doubt.”
The three guys and the lady have been playing their way from Hamburg up to Berlin and even Prague. In February 2007 their first video clip of their song “Illegal Department” was released on German TV, a price which they had won on NewcomerTV, one of Germany’s most renowned Newcomer shows for alternative bands (https://www.tradebit.com).
Gravel Juice has been existing in its original formation since 2001. Since then they have produced 4 EPs without being signed, the latest one being “Scorpion Days”. Three of the 4 albums have been aired and promoted on varying German radio stations (RadioRST a.o.), partly with Live Acoustic Sessions.
Their latest album has been recorded in Berlin and Frankfurt. It presents Gravel Juice in a direct and rocky fashion without compromising on the Groove. It finely demonstrates that good, handmade music can still be found throughout the German rock and alternative music scene.
The four Juice Rockers have also gained a lot of live experience over the years playing a wide variety of different venues within and out of Germany. Their biggest supports of yet have been Marla Glen, Chumbawumba, Such a Surge and the German Rock Trio EL*KE.
At the end of 2006 the lady and her three guys were happy to receive the price of “Germany’s 2nd best alternative singer” by the German Rock and Pop Foundation which was given to them after a convincing live performance in Duisburg.
