ROCK: Jam-band, ROCK: Rock & Roll

Details:
“The J Kells Band seems to reach out from the stage, grab ahold of your feet and make them move. What a great feeling we had when we left the performance!”
-Michelle Friedly, Today’s Best Music X-106/WMX (Rochester)

“No one in the entire house stayed still while the J Kells Band performed. What an entirely catchy sound and addictive energy!”
-Shane Thomas, Buzz Room Owner

*The J Kells Band formed in the Spring of 2005 when songwriter/guitarist Jesse Kells met drummer/vocalist Steve ''Alto'' Alviti on Rye Beach on the seacoast in New Hampshire. They quickly decided to put beats, bass, and groovy instruments behind a mountain of folky song material that had generally been played in Jesse''s solo performances. The result was an infectious, groovy style that was wide open for hot sax, keyboard, harp & guitar solos. It took time to audition and place the right musicians into the mix...much like creating a meal with the right ingredients- everything must be just so. The live performances have always served as the fuel behind the band...and until now, JKB didn''t have a studio album to offer their listeners. Since that Summer of inception, JKB has played 75+ shows in 13 states and expanded the band to a full seven musicians periodically appearing on stage--In June, 2007, JKB released ''The Next Big Thing''...15 tracks that will NOT get out of your head.

"I remember our first performance in Manhattan", frontman Jesse Kells ponders and laughs. "We were all giddy like little school kids, just brimming with the energy of the moment we had finally arrived at. It felt like we finally had front seats on the roller coaster ride...so cool!"

The goal has always remained the same though: to get everyone who attends a perfomance to kick their shoes off and freak it out on the dance floor a little bit... Afterall, there isn''t a shred of evidence indicating that life has to be taken seriously.
