My musical career started in 1951 at the age of twelve in my fathers band. In the 60''s, 70''s and eighties I played mostly in small groups in the lounge scene. Then I met some of the more prominent jazz musicians in the Boston area. It was then that I started to play with some great musicians like Herb Pomeroy, Dick Johnson, Gray Sargent, Marshall Wood, and many others. Early in my playing days, I was influenced by some wonderful pianists, such as , Erroll Garner, George Shearing,and later by Oscar Peterson and Tommy Flanagan. My Favorite composer is Harold Arlen. And lately I''ve been falling in love with the music of Billy Strayhorn. I hope to do a CD featuring some of his works soon.
