BLACKSTAR is a three man band from outside Hartford, Connecticut whose music is honest and powerful. They’ve been playing together in various forms for over ten years and have settled into a comfort zone recently, getting back to basics and playing the kind of music they love most.
From their humble beginnings as local favorite "Under the Rose", the members of BLACKSTAR have enjoyed considerable success and have put together an impressive body of work. The band has played hundreds of gigs together and has written several albums worth of material. "Big Song" is the first release with the current 3-man lineup and marks a new direction for them. The no-nonsense, straight ahead rock approach appears to be the perfect fit for both the band and it''s audiences. The arrangements are simple yet powerful and the tunes are accessible without being too predictable or mainstream.
