Gustavo Alberto is a singer-songwriter who lives between two countries, two languages and three cultures, American, Mexican and Mexican-American/Chicano. Influenced at a young age by his father who played guitar, Gustavo grew up listening to everything from traditional Mexican folk songs, the smooth vocals of Mexican balladeers like Luis Miguel, bands like the Beatles, U2, Mana and songwriters like Cat Stevens from where he learned the appeal and beauty of music in two languages. After moving to Los Angeles Gustavo pursued his career as a singer song writer and teamed up with producers Heroes and Villains (Dan Burns and Billy Mohler) who after hearing his Spanish material encouraged Gustavo to record an EP. The result was the EP “La Ciudad” (The City) which showcases five distinct and original songs that meld the musical landscapes of Latin rhythms and melodies with the sonic textures of American rock. Each song takes the listener on a different journey and finds heart and soul in a world of concrete and glass. ************************************************************** Gustavo Alberto es un cantante y compositor que vive entre dos países, dos lenguajes y tres culturas, Mexicana, Estado Unidense y Chicana. Nacido en la Ciudad de México y criado en California, Gustavo Alberto ha estado cruzando fronteras desde que nació. Influenciado a una temprana edad por su papá que tocaba la guitarra Gustavo creció escuchando de todo desde la música folklórica de México, cantantes mexicanos y latinos como Luis Miguel, las melodías de grupos como U2 y Maná, los sonidos sónicos de La Ley y The Cure, hasta compositores como Cat Stevens y Joaquin Sabina. De estos artistas aprendió a apreciar la música en ambos idiomas. Después de terminar la universidad Gustavo Alberto se fue a vivir a Los Angeles para seguir su carrera como cantante y compositor. Se unió con el equipo productor Heroes and Villains (Dan Burns y Billy Mohler) quienes animaron a Gustavo a grabar sus propias canciones después de escucharlas. El resultado fue el disco "La Ciudad" que presenta cinco originales y distintas canciones que mezclan los ritmos y melodías Latinas con la textura sónica del rock en inglés. Cada canción lleva al oyente en un viaje distinto y encuentran el alma y corazón en este mundo de vidrio y metal.
