Richard Lee’s debut studio album ‘Beautiful Car Wreck’ is the culmination of 2 years work. Originally conceived as purely an acoustic album it proved the old adage that all plans really are subject to change. Originally completed in February 2006 it was realised that although acoustic albums are all well and good, isn''t it better to poke the listener in the ear drums so they want to keep listening again and again rather than just when they want to chill out.
Following a brief album hiatus an unsuspecting drummer, a brilliant bassist, and a poor innocent studio suddenly found themselves booked up. The result of which is an album of acoustic based rock songs. From the opening track Beautiful Car Wreck, through to the closing track of My Town, this is an album of catchy choruses, hook filled harmonies, and genuine lyrics. Richard’s voice has a warmth and intimacy that paints pictures and tell stories making these songs uniquely compelling.
