Self-taught, singer, songwriter, alternative folk rock guitarist Lisa Valenti is celebrating her debut album TO LIFE! Playing all original songs on acoustic and electric guitars, she uses regular and open tunings. Lisa sings the main and backup vocals, plays keys, and also graces the recording with an instrument called a ukelin.
TO LIFE! also features drummer Mick McGavock and bassist Shane Harry and Ed Woolley playing bass on the song Everything. Lisa has played solo most of her life, but was a guitarist and backup singer in the band Rosemary Silence out of Phoenix, Arizona in the 90s and played with a couple of other bands before Rosemary.
"On the CD TO LIFE!, I play a few guitars; a Guild acoustic/electric in regular tuning, an Ibanez semi-jumbo guitar in open C tuning, a Simon & Patrick cedar acoustic in two variations of open D, a gold-top (so sweet) Les Paul, and a Fender Stratocaster both in regular tuning," Lisa explains.
Lisa also play keys and the ukelin. The ukelin she uses was made in 1926 in the eastern United States, has 36 strings and can be played with a bow. The ukelin recording can be heard as a hidden track after the last song on the album TO LIFE!
Lisa produced the CD TO LIFE! with recording engineer Ed Woolley. Recorded the summer of 2006 at Firehouse Recording Studios in Pasadena California.
