MP3 Chris Holcombe - Settin' The Moon On Fire

If Delbert McClinton and Bonnie Raitt had a love child that was raised (and then neglected) by Linda Ronstadt and Marc Cohn (you know, the "Walking In Memphis" guy), then this is what it would sound like.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Chris Holcombe is a remarkably talented singer and songwriter. An alumnus of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Chris has honed his craft of songwriting and performing and is ready to take the music industry by storm.

As a songwriter, Chris has had many wonderful experiences, including cowriting with famed singer and songwriter Michael McDonald. His work was also featured in "On The Road," a nationally published anthology showcasing lyrical excellence, and he has cowriting credits on Kristen Cothron''s debut album "Only Words."

As a singer, Chris has had the most fortunate opportunity to perform in New York City''s infamous Carnegie Hall. Other performances include songwriting rounds in Nashville''s famous Bluebird Cafe and Douglas Corner, and various clubs and venues in Cambridge and Boston.

His music is currently available on over 27 different digital downloading companies, including the iTunes Music Store. Chris is currently in the studios, working hard on his second collection of songs.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:

Chris Holcombe''s first album showcases his fine talents as well as his musical diversity. Songs range from rousing rockers to acoustic, piano driven ballads, each tailored with intense emotion and wry observation, such as the opening "Black Tuesday," which takes the coined phrase from the 1929 stock market crash and turns it into a pessimistic, ironic account of the world''s obsession with materialism. The title track, inspired by an act of skinny dipping in the Mediterranean Sea, uses vivid imagery to describe a newly consummated love affair. But perhaps the highlight of the album is "One Too Many In Love," a heart renching ballad (co-written with Michael McDonald) about knowing when to love and when to walk away. With literally something for everyone, Chris Holcombe has created a CD with memorable, lasting songs and established his creative place in the music industry.
