Details:
"Pausefiskene" was the popular name of some exotic aquarium fishes that appeared on Norwegian national TV in the youth of television broadcasting, whenever no real program was on air. The band took this name after their first gig when they discovered, to their great disappointment, that their act had been reduced to optional amusement in between the highlights of the night. Singing in Norwegian, and being influenced (sometimes) by folk music traditions of their home country, their music might appear somewhat exotic to an international audience. Their debut album "bare et sår" consists of 11 songs that range in style from laid-back, guitar-based rock, power pop, folk-rock, and funk, to meandering, acoustic pop. Yet, all the songs are easily recognizable as Pausefiskene, not the least due to the contrasting qualities of the male and female singers and the guitar-based arrangements.
