Details:
Several Mouth Parts was a band from Redondo Beach, California that performed in and around Los Angeles in the early ''70s. Their influences included Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Deep Purple, Anthony Braxton, and ? and the Mysterians.

This, the only recording of the group, was made during a two week period when the band performed for a benefit at South High, and again at the Torrance YMCA in 1972.

The tapes were stored for 34 years until recently re-discovered. Four of the original six members got tegether to select the song order and to attend the mastering session. The CD was mastered by Scott Fraser - who mixes Kronos Quartet''s live shows and many other CDs.

Despite the occasional technical flaws, this CD displays the unique talents and writing skills of Andrew Wedgbury, and Scott Lynd. The CD is uproariously funny. If there is a fine line between the brilliant and moronic, Several Mouthparts had a foot on either side.

"Here''s a head scratcher, a bunch of guys from Redondo Beach, California from ''72 claiming to be a jam band influenced by Deep Purple and Anthony Braxton. Looks like their only recording was from a high school dance and YMCA; the stupe factor can get pretty high at times "Boogie on Your Woogie", "Can on a Hot Tit Roof", I leave that up to the Zappa SoCal influence), but there''s some pretty great moments of stumbling primitivity going on here and there amidst the groan-worthy stuff. The line up: Lord Woo-Woo, Stanley L. Douad, Zildjian Rogers (on drums of course), G.R. Wardlo, Baby Gouda, Danny Zuchin."
