MP3 Indy Clark & Steve Laws - Divergence
Acoustic pop with an edge
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, FOLK: Folk Pop
Details:
The eagerly-awaited follow up to 2003''s ''When Paths Cross'', finds Indy and Steve picking up where they left off, but then taking their sound somewhere slightly different.
The not-so difficult second album has all their trademark melody, rhythm and lyrical depth, but it is full of surprises. More complete than the first, this album tells a story.
Not bad for two old men in a basement.
ABOUT ''DIVERGENCE'':
Mark Wilson of Gilberd Performing Arts:
I really like the evolution of the music from ''When Paths Cross''. ''Divergence'' has more layers and the sound is filled out perfectly, complementing the great sound Indy and Steve create, without losing its acoustic feel.
''Here We Are Again'' is a great opening track filled with beautiful harmonies and I love the political comment. The Sax solo is really cool and I love that Steve went off on one and threw a jazz curve man!
I think `Tell It Like It Is'' is up there with their best stuff. Lyrically it has a great metre and catchy melody. I often find myself singing it. Steve''s Bass line gives the whole song a jazzy feel.
''Wish Away The Days'' is one of my favourites from the Indy Clark collection. Again, another really beautiful sax solo.
So, finally, to my favourite song of all. Ends of The Earth. WOW! I have already learnt to sing the harmonies for this one. When something is that good, I don''t want it to end. I don''t think I have ever listened to it just once.
It is a great album. Something special.
