In February 2004, Cordalene entered the basement of Princeton College''s WPRB to record a session for Jon Solomon''s radio show. A jumble of cables, broken headphones, the rare broken bass string, and 2 hours later, Jon had recorded over 30 minutes of songs, old and new. The band didn''t really know what to expect - with weird mixes in the headphones, unable to hear each other clearly, they feared the worst. Till they heard the results. After the show aired on WPRB, friends of the band started trading tapes of the recordings - which ultimately pushed the band to put out this limited run release... each CD is individualy numbered and gives the listener a feel for what Cordalene is like Live - much more of a sonic onslaught then their earlier records might have indicated. With the set split between songs from their 2003 Blue EP and new tunes headed for their forthcoming 2005 full length album, Cordalene Live at WPRB is a document to commemorate a late night, a great DJ, and a band on the verge.
Compared in reviews to bands like White Stripes, Kinks, Strokes, Weezer, Phantom Planet, the Jam, and others, Cordalene has been at it since 2002 - playing shows up and down the East Coast, and releasing a series of EPs. Mike, Jim, Jamie and Joe all live within 4 blocks of each other in South Philadelphia, where their Manic Pop Thrill label is also based. They are currently playing up and down the East Coast and working on their first full length album, slated for a 2005 release.
