The Approaching Storm spearheads one of the the newest musical genres: Film Fusion. It combines the full length album story-telling genius of Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd Fame) with the often eclectic, yet cohesive tracks found on film scores ands soundtracks. Jerome Salyers and Patrick Zimmermann are taking concept albums forward into the Fusion world.
From the opening opus of Storm Watch, which takes us from fusion and jazz, through to a childlike piano and finishes with a traditional orchestrated film score sound, to The Path that Leads Us On, an uplifting pop song, the entire album tells a story of human emotion searching for a home to rest.
