Soulful artist Daniel McKenzie proves he is no “musician in disguise” with his debut album. Classically trained, McKenzie discovered his love of the piano at age five and has been playing non-stop ever since; winning several prestigious awards by the age of 11.
Despite many personal challenges throughout his teenage years, McKenzie’s music kept him focused and determined to find a better life. Through this he discovered his ability and passion to write soulful songs that turned his pain and struggles into art.
It was after entering the Toronto open mic circuit in July 2005 that McKenzie began to hone his skills as a performer. His appearances did not go unnoticed - in less than two years he has proven himself as a true artistic talent and captivating performer; sharing heartfelt stories of love, loss, and the ever-changing world around us while developing a strong fan base that grows bigger with every performance.

With an edgy soulful sound and a powerful delivery, McKenzie’s songs cross traditional musical boundaries and will be embraced by both male and female fans, young and old.
McKenzie has entertained crowds in various venues throughout Toronto, including the Free Times Café, The Black Swan, Holy Joe’s, Renaissance Café, Cameron House, Gladstone Hotel, Cadillac Lounge, and C’est What. He has also performed at charity events including The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life (Mississauga, 2006), The Toronto Waterfront Marathon 2006 and the Toronto Night Market celebration (Markham, 2006), where he performed for a crowd of over 2,000 people.
