MP3 The Cracklins - A Priori
Kind of a blend betwen the Rollins Band and The Fluid. The riffs are heavy but not crunchy, like a fuzzed out Zeppelin approach

Details:
The Cracklins are a four piece Atlanta rock band consisting of Curtis Grens (vocals), Michael Crow (drums) and Timbo Norton (guitar) - who have been playing together since the spring of 1996 - and Barry Mullins (bass) who was added in the fall of 2001. They have recorded three demos and have played dozens of shows at clubs around Atlanta, including The Masquerade, Under the Couch at GA Tech, and the 9 Lives Saloon. Their influences stem from a wide variety of sources including The Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, U2, The Cure, Led Zeppelin, The Misfits and The Clash. They are very open minded libertarian thinkers who embrace the ideals of such great thinkers at Jean-Paul Sartre and Ayn Rand.
''a priori,'' the latest ep from the Cracklins, is a bitter, yet carefully crafted pill. Its six songs provide a self-aware and introspective lyrical and sonic examination of self-defeat and pattern recognition. It opens with the hard-hitting ''night people'', and also features the fragile and haunting ''moth'' and blistering epic ''empty palace''.
