Craig and Steve are back! The Craig Smith Band has just released
cd number five. "Galaxy Ride" is the fifth cd the band has released since 2002. Smith is like a machine gun the way he shoots out the tunes. The ten new songs on the "Galaxy Ride" cd makes 54 original
songs that they have released. The songs on this cd are of such quality that the ears won''t believe how much great music is on one cd.
The first song on the cd "Galaxy Ride" is just that, a wonderful melody with strong lyrics about love in a galaxy proportion. It
also has a great space sound. Let the strat, piano, and layered vocals take you far away in the galaxy.
The second song on the cd "There Was A Time" will get your attention right from the start. Tweaked drums and percussion with electric piano and guitar will lead into smooth vocals with a Graham Nash vocal type flavor.
"An Hour To A Year" is the third song on the cd. What a jazz feel on this tune. It''s sure to get the ole foot tapping.
"A Woman Like You" is the fourth song on the cd. A great song featuring acoustic guitar, mandolin, and lap steel. A great country feel on this one.
The fifth song "Gray Days" has a soft jazz feel with a smooth walking bass line. The lyrics and strat work are excellent. The piano sounds sweet on this one too.
The sixth song is titled "Jill". The song is "sweet" like the lady with a Hall and Oats type feel. It''s a great love song.
"A Wonderful Ride" is the seventh song. Get ready to tap the ole foot on this one. It''s a great song for lap steel lovers. And anyway,
everyone has his or her own way to make the long ride home not seem so long.
The eighth song "Is There A Reason" is a floating song about love and just how to say it.
The ninth song "I Just Think Of You" is a jazzy little tune with a great sound. Dig the bass on this one. Killer lyrics too.
The last song on the cd "Desire" has great stacked vocals with strings and acoustic guitar.
As on their four earlier cd''s not enough can be said about Steve''s bass work on this project. With solid skill and precision he lays down the bass line bringing great harmony and unity to the project.
Looks like there''s no stopping these guys from their main goal. And their main goal has always been to write original music and lay it down on cd''s.
The Craig Smith Band doesn''t play on tour but they play hard in the studio and strive to deliver the best possible sound to music fans.
They depend solely on cd sales and digital distribution for their existence. And with 54 original songs to choose from the lads feel like there should be something for everyone to enjoy. The "Galaxy Ride" cd is a special addition to Craig''s library of songs.
