The LeMoyne-Owen College African Drumming Ensemble (LOCADE), was created in 2006 by Mr. James Wilburn and Dr. David Lisik. The group, comprised of students from LeMoyne-Owen College and Hollis F. Price Middle College (on the LOC campus) rehearses twice a week and is dedicated to the authentic performance of African percussion and dance from various time periods and regions of the continent. Highlights of the many recent LOCADE performances include Memphis'' Africa in April Festival mainstage and Memphis'' Orpheum Theater for the Annual LeMoyne-Owen Sunday Celebration.
