Details:
Cris Torres Strother has been a musician since an early age. Playing instruments, particularly guitar, and loving music were more important than anything else. As a teenager, while playing in bands, she began to realize that copying other peoples music did not hold her attention. As Cris would start learning a song, it would suddenly go in a totally different direction and before long she was churning out original melodies. From that point on she "let the music flow" and discovered her biggest musical passion which was songwriting.

Having grown up listening and playing guitar to the likes of Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Heart and Van Halen, Cris used to get the audiences attention as that "female head banging guitar player". But over time she delved into old blues, acoustic/folk, 60''s soul and parts of country. All of this melded together in her writing, but she is impossible to put a label on. For anyone who has listened to her music, Cris Torres Strother has a unique stye all her own with her songs and the presentation of them.

Because of the emotion that she puts into her writing and guitar (as well as mandolin and mandola), it''s been a frustrating process to find singers that can always feel what she feels in the lyrics. This frustration, along with encouragement from many of the great musicians and producers that have worked with her, helped Cris reach a decision. For the first time she has put her vocals to the music. Having never done more than some backup vocals, this was both a nerve wracking and learning experience. But the result was both refreshing and rewarding, and now what have always been great songs literally reach out and wrap around you with feeling. Her guitar and vocals are such a complement to each other, and because of what I call her "schizoid" personality (a must for creative people; right?) her music will sometimes make a 180 degree turn - or maybe sometimes just a 72 degree turn if you''re expecting 180.

For all the blood, sweat and tears that went into making this CD, Cris hopes you like it half as much as she loved making it.
