MP3 Object - Huichol Spores
This album slips from Roots Rock to Blues to Reggae to Rock to music looking for a genre, but the sounds all blend to give the album a distintive feel. The lyrics in a few songs should give you a laugh.

Details:
Huichol Spores is a somewhat eclectic collection, yet the album has a consistent feel. The songs are driven by electric guitars and bass. Most of the songs are hard driving rock/blues/roots oriented, but there is also reggae, experimental, and electric/acoustic flamencoesque. The atmosphere of several cuts is dark. Others are humorous. Much work has gone into the lyrics, so the lyrics'' mood matches that of the music. Following is a run-down of some of the songs.
1. "Some Dreams (Lisa''s song)": a pretty song that soars into a driving anthem.
4. "That Feeling" shifts in mood and is hard to
describe. Some sample lyrics:
We ride a ragged razor
Rust and blood are all we know
Talk to empty nothing
Hear the cries from down below
Search the bottom of a bottle
For the chord of life''s full throttle
And we won''t be known
5. "Beneath the Earth and Snow": a very dark, hard, fast blues/rock number.
7. "I Don''t Get the Blues": an academic''s attempt to "get" the blues.
8. "Take Over Jesus": a roots rock piece with lots of humor.
9. "Club Kensington": an alcoholic''s lament about living in a state with blue laws and dry counties.
13. "Sally Can Dance": a thumping rock response to the Lou Reed album title Sally Can''t Dance.
This album was a time consuming, aggravating lot of fun to make. Hope you enjoy it.
