Details:
DEVENERE (Derek R. Johnson), born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, is one of Chi-town''s premier up-and-coming Hip-Hop Artists, eclectic Songwriters, and Producers. With a very distinct style that''s influenced by a wide range of music (mainly Hip -Hop and R&B), Devenere converted his love for music into an art form. His Talents have enabled him to create streets anthems and undeniable club bangers, as well as radio friendly tunes.

Growing up in an urban community embattled by social ills common across many states, music served as both an inspiration and an outlet for self-expression. Drawing own his experiences, while writing captivating and visually descriptive lyrics, enabled Devenere to reach a boarder audience than the average artists. It has also allowed him to pen Hip-Hop and R&B songs for artists of local independent labels: S&S Recordz, Inc. and Relentless Productions Inc. Also, he has made several guest appearances on hot tracks from local Chicago artists.

In March of 2004, Devenere released his debut EP entitled "THE WARM UP." The EP is a collection of 8 (+ one hidden) hot tracks written and arranged by Devenere and produced by Lee Hurst of Relentless Productions (touring bass player for the Chi-lites). With the singles "Stimulate" and "Switch Teams," Devenere successfully garnered consistent radio airplay on WKKC college radio, Peoria Power 92, and KBOL in Iowa. In addition, Devenere has made special guest appearances with Chicago''s Power 92 very own Hot Boys, Trey the Chocolate Jock, and Diana Cano.

Devenere is bringing the "HEAT" for 2005, the follow-up to "THE WARM UP." With singles like "I Gotcha," "What You Come Here 4," and "Whatcha Hood Like," Devenere strengthens his street credibility and demonstrates his ability to move successfully into the mainstream.
