MP3 Bruce Demarest Band - It's Moving Day

Alternative Adult Contemporary...
Rock/Pop songs crafted by a mature singer/songwriter, based in Austin, Texas.
(not Austin Blues)

14 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
Though based in Austin Texas, and the cover of the CD is that old picture of luggage on the highway, circa 1975, please don''t assume that this is an Austin Blues, or roadhouse country music type of band, and songwriter... It is not!

The picture is symbolic for the theme of the album. Letting go of the past, and moving on. The 14 cuts on this album are contemporary adult rock songs, crafted by a mature writer and played by seasoned musicians. (i.e. older guys!)

Ray Pieters of Radio-Milo in Belgium says, "I must confess that I like it alot!! He just has his own style of well sung rock music. There is no bad or weak moment on the whole CD. He has a very good voice, strong lyrics, great hooks and sound, all very well produced. What impresses me also very much is the very nice sound of the guitar and use of the piano."

Mike Donahoe of The Austin Metro Local Flavor had this to say, "Just released in late winter 2001, Bruce''s new CD features first rate musicianship and deeply personal songs which he admits leave him feeling naked. " It''s Moving Day" reveals that this San Francisco transplant must have the soul of a true Texas Songwriter. His lyrics are filled with doubt and he abandons himself to hope in the fine rocker "At The Cafe Gallery", and to worry in "Your Secret Lover".
In "All I Want Him To Be", which Bruce thought he was writing for his son, he bares the secret of his abused childhood. The photos on the cover and the title cut (my Favorite) make the symbolic statement of change with great clarity and poetry. Similar subjects were covered with equal skill by Darcie Deville and Linda Freeman in recent years. Those disks drew rave reviews. This will too. "

The songs are catchy, and some of them have unusual chord changes.
These are listening songs influenced more by rock and folk, than country or blues.
This will sound more like Jackson Browne or Counting Crows, than Stevie Ray Vaughn.

An excellent band featuring electric guitars, grand piano, bass, drums, lead and harmony vocals.
