Phil and Charlie Honeygene began singing together many moons ago, improvising with the acoustic guitar, voices and harmony. As father and daughter, they’ve always had a special musical connection, but really only started writing together as Honeygene in July 2006, when they wrote ‘Perfect Harmony’. Phils mum/Charlie''s Grandma, Nesta Honeygene was the source of Phil and Charlie’s inspiration, having been a concert pianist and dedicated piano teacher herself. She always supported their musical endeavours. She is sadly missed. During this last year, Honeygene have played many London gigs in venues like The Dublin Castle, The Barfly and The Foundry gaining experience, confidence and some fans on the way! Drawing on many influences such as alternative/acoustic, rock n roll, country, rhythm and blues, and https://www.tradebit.comy have recorded fourteen songs for their debut album ‘A beautiful place to get lost’, with help from the talents of good friends, Adam Lewis on the drums, and TJay Tarantino on bass guitar. Sound engineer Richard Bignell, who has worked with the likes of Jamiroqui and Mark Almond, produced both Phil’s solo album of 2006,” Naked and Naïve” and Honeygene’s of 2007 “A beautiful place to get lost” at his studios, Area 18, in West London.
