The Drugstore Cowgirls are a power trio--Dirty Little Pedro (Pedro Shanahan) on bass and vocals, Destin Clover- guitar and vocals, and Keith Roenke on drums and occasional keyboards. Born from the fertile L.A. open-mike circuit, The Drugstore Cowgirls blend the experimental ambience of Radiohead with the sand-between-your-toes realness of Sublime into a refreshingly straight-ahead rock and roll sound all their own.
The Drugstore Cowgirls have used DIY tactics, playing a free weekly residency at Canters Kibitz Room in Hollywood and self-releasing their debut CD Fine Wine and Spirits,to build an impressive following.
Currently on rotation on KXLU 88.9 FM and available upon request on Indie 103.1 FM, The Drugstore Cowgirls are making their mark on the airwaves as well.
The Drugstore Cowgirls continue to contribute to the flourishing L.A. Music Scene playing clubs such as Spaceland, Star Shoes, and the Knitting Factory often and are currently working on songs for their second self-released CD, tentatively titled "What the fuck Mr. President."
