dream catcher is a solo project former T42 singer John Rech started in 1997. Meant to be an opportunity to play a couple of gigs with friends while escaping the T42 world, he didn''t plan to release a recording. But a break from touring with his band kinda resulted in the mini album "happy in my tree house". The title track soon became a favourite of radio dj''s and the album some kind of insider hit, since most people didn''t relate it to T42''s lead singer. In 1999, T42 released a best of album and went back on tour, supporting among others Ezio in Germany.
Asked to translate a charity song from French into Luxembourgish, John and his friend as well as multi instrumentalist Eric Falchero wrote a new theme song ("deng Hand") for the Télévie Campaign in 2003, thus resulting in dream catcher''s 2nd release.
Enjoying this collaboration, the two rented a house in the South of France and wrote a few songs for the forthcoming T42 album. But the band''s split up in 2005 gave these songs a new home: dream catcher''s new EP called "3".
Recorded and mixed at the Mühle der Freundschaft in Bad Iburg (Germany) in February 2005, "3"was produced by Marcus Praed (by the way, Ezio''s sound engineer) who also played guitar on all the tracks... Backed up by Christian Harpes on bass (T42) and Quentin Demko on drums, dream catcher supported Ezio on their German Tour in March. The band''s performance was astonishing and the multilingual set (English, French and Luxembourgish) found a great response.
"La plume", "Verluer", "Maybe" and "Mutiny on the bounty" are little stories about love, the conflict between touring and life back home, about mental exhaustion and the emptiness a storyteller or author can face... "3" also reflects the multicultural life of Europe''s green heart... The limited tour edition offers the live tracks from T42''s sold out album "crew deluxe"...
