In a world increasingly congested with post-meaning, post-melodic, and post-enjoyment music it can be a daunting task to sort out the wheat from the chaff. How does a band speak out against the tripe and stick it to the man without rendering themselves utterly unlistenable in the process? This band is playing and composing music that stands in direct opposition to the mega-music-media-hydra; swords raised and gleaming with a magical aura - ready to fight for what we believe is good music. Music that we hope will still be considered valid art long after we have expired our physical husks on this cursed earthen plane.
We are friends first - many bands we have been in seemed at one time or another to subscribe to the "we don''t have to be friends" method and the results were always disasterous. Like a ship of rusty old peg legs, we hang together like so many tattered flags whipped in the breeze. All for one and one for all. We think this is more uncommon than one might guess.
We are driven by art, meaning and melody. These are the brushes with which we stimulate textures to appear in the air as waveforms reaching the eardrums. Once reaching the inner ear, these textures realize their true forms once again as symbols, interpreted many different ways by as many different brains. It is not a jigsaw puzzle where all of the pieces fit together neatly. Rather, there are many different puzzles with pieces mixed together, with the possibility of many new and wildly different puzzles being constructed from the melange of pieces.
We like songs, but deny formulae. Songs are like little pills...they can fix what''s wrong with you and they can just really fuck you up. We like both kinds.
