Details:
The mission of the Dayton Mandolin Orchestra is to revive the classic sound of the early 1900s mandolin orchestras across America, to promote the wide diversity of genres which the mandolin orchestra can perform, and to seek new ways to expand the mandolin family repertoire. DMO supports all who share in this mission.
The Dayton Mandolin Orchestra (DMO) performs at local concerts, holiday celebrations and other events in the Dayton and Greater Miami Valley area. The orchestra features the members of the mandolin family: Mandolin, Mandola, Octave, Mandocello and Mandobass; and their acoustical cousins, the Guitar and Contrabass, with additional instrumentalists as needed.
DMO''s repertoire consists of a wide variety of music spanning the Seventeenth through Twenty-first Centuries: Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, light Jazz/Big Band, Contemporary, patriotic and seasonal numbers, with a special emphasis on music of the early Twentieth Century: "The Golden Age" of the Mandolin Orchestra''s history.
The Sound of Angels is the Dayton Mandolin Orchestra''s third professional recording, but the first to specialize in showing off the groups holiday spirit.
Ted Eschliman, https://www.tradebit.com, says: "We''re in the Spririt, now! We had no doubts it would be this professional; and cool, too. This is a fine recording... you have the recipe for some wonderful mandolin texture."
