Figment is a three piece punk rock band which ping pongs between New York and Los Angeles, depending on the weather and the current mood of the fine men and women in blue or black!
Figment was founded by singer, songwriter, guitarist and full time punk, Laramie Beckay. He was soon joined by drummer Ritchie Rembrandt (no relation)and bassist Evil K. Nievel (once again...no relation)
Laramie got a pat on the back by the L.A.P.D. and John Walsh for some of his "activism", and he also got a billy club to the head, a fist to the face and a "bomb-ass" beating by a traffic cop named Officer Gallagher, of the Santa Monica P.D. but says, "If he only didn''t have that billy club, pepper spray, taser, knee in my chest and a 100 pound advantage, I know I could have pinned him".
And that''s how the "When Pigs Fly" live c.d. was born...
Song themes include the U.S. driven poppy market, police brutality, unfair and dangerous trade with China, global warming, human rights, low wages, and other punk rock anthems. Some made for the mosh pit, or any romantic dinner party!
