"The Stuntmen have begun to build up a respective repertoire of originals. Their new album Iron Hip, testifies to that. From the straight shooting opener "Downtown" to the dramatic ebb and flow of "Low" to the instantly catchy pop of "Out Of Bed" to the powerful balladry of "Stars" Iron Hip represents a significant step forward in songwriting."

Drunk Stuntmen, Iron Hip, 4 stars.
Based in Western Massachusetts for the past decade, Drunk Stuntmen have been quietly putting up some steady numbers, releasing several independent recordings and touring relentlessly including more than 200 shows in 2003 .
Their newest full-length release offers a sparkling blast of alt-country/Americana that at times reminiscent of Wilco, with echoes of everyone from Let It Bleed era Stones to Cracker and even a trace of The Eagles.
Featuring a three-pronged, gritty guitar sound and plenty of richly alluring melodies, Iron Hip, offers numerous standouts, including the album-opening Downtown, the world-weary, stark magnificence of Stars, and the raunchy jailbait rocker No No Girls.
The band also takes a few intriguing detours, most effectively during the rockin rip through the Lynyrd Skynyrd-flavored Bullet.
