The Irish Mist was formed in 1990 by Alex Basile and Michael Groarke. Shortly after their start, they released their first self-titled project The Irish Mist. They quickly became known for their beautiful interpretations of Irish favorites and covers of rock standards.
Alex and Mike were joined in 1997 by Ronnie D''Addario, a veteran of the Irish scene. Ronnie has accompanied Tommy Makem on his concert tour for almost 20 years. Ronnie has also produced and engineered albums for Tommy Makem as well as Morning Star, Mary O''Dowd and Danny Quinn.
There have been many requests through the years for a live recording of The Irish Mist. Fans who have enjoyed The Irish Mist at festivals, weddings, pubs, and family parties have hoped for something to take with them after they have left the event.
