MP3 The Party Faithful - Seven Cycles

Highly melodic, sonic, and often danceable, The Party Faithful''s music is thoughtful yet unpretentious. While they certainly owe a debt to their Anglo heroes (Morrissey, The Cure, and the like), they have a sound all their own.

Details:
"An NYC band with a new name that''s a ton better than their old one, the Party Faithful are celebrating the release of their new 7-song EP, which we assume is full of more of the same addictive, tasteful, upbeat indie-pop they''re known for." – The L Magazine

The Party Faithful officially formed in the summer of 2007, but it isn’t exactly a new band. In truth, it all began when singer/guitarist Patrick Harmon and drummer Paul Frick joined forces in 2001. As their lineup and musical styles changed, so did the name – first Dollhouse Architects, then Mothlight and most recently Lolita Bras. Now, along with bassist Erica D’Andrea Gray (who joined in 2005), they have formed a solid and formidable hybrid – full of renewed energy and optimism tempered by the wisdom of lessons learned.

Throughout their history, they have never had a problem wooing new listeners with their melodic hooks, sonic complexity and oft-praised live energy. This statement has been tested and proven in notable venues all over New York City and spanning the East Coast. While the musical comparisons they draw are diverse (from The Cure to the Smiths, Pavement to The Pixies), the consensus, at least, is unanimous: THEY ROCK!

Seven Cycles, a 7-song EP showcasing their current stage of evolution is now available at shows, and will be for sale in stores and online beginning December 3, 2007.

"An on-the-rise local indie act for fans of melodic, vocal-driven pop."

" The band''s songwriting skill and onstage energy set them apart from the rest."

New York Press

"Everything [they do]… is so direct and elegant, it elicits an almost embarrassing joy in the listener… they''re going somewhere, and my guess is the first stop is your iPod."

The Day, New London
"It''s a pity Creation Records – the now defunct legendary U.K. indie label – isn''t around to organize a package tour around The Party Faithful with Felt and The House of Love, or maybe the late great Swervedriver. The band''s best new song, "Revolution Fuse," an optimistic slow builder recalls Morrissey''s glam-rock albums from the early ''90s, with nifty and natural turns of phrase – "Though we are older, the night is young."

"Blending elements of British 80s rock with recent New York punk stylings and a twinge of brooding psychedelia, they certainly have the talent and confidence to gain an even larger following in New York and beyond … the terrific guitar riffs and pounding percussion will make [checking them out] more than worth your while."

Witness Production Program
"... let''s put it this way: If you like Morrisey, you''ll like The Party Faithful. Moreover, if you just like seeing pinpoint execution of song writing in a tight and experienced band… then you''ll love The Party Faithful."
