MP3 Pia Fridhill Trio - Triptychon Part II - This moment...
Soulful acoustic pop songs with personal lyrics and a great female voice - Swedish singer/songwriter Pia Fridhill presents her melodic jazz influenced songs together with a surprise Swedish folk song - AND a Spanish one, too.
Details:
Swedish singer Pia Fridhill and her two musicians Jens Hoffmann and Wilhelm Geschwind present jazz influenced soulpop with strong melody lines, rich meaningful lyrics and expressional vocals. With minimum instrumentation they extract maximum musicianship from voice, acoustic guitar, piccolo double bass and percussion, creating a very personal sound ambiance and a touching atmospheric soulfulness.
This second album in the Triptychon trilogy starts off with the souly “Whatever it takes” followed by bossa-jazzy “All I can think of”. In the Spanish “En este momento” the trio expresses their sorrow over the sudden lost of a young person. The album again features a Swedish traditional, this time an intriguingly arranged wedding march “Jämtländsk brudmarsch” which really breathes Scandinavian melancholy. In “All that I am” the female vocalist expresses the self-doubts she was plagued with as she left her well-paid manager job to become a full-time musician.
Again the second part of the Triptychon trilogy was recorded by two-time Grammy Award winner Klaus Genuit.
Pia Fridhill (vocals, percussion elements)
Jens Hoffmann (acoustic guitar)
Wilhelm Geschwind (piccolo double bass, bass percussion, fretless bass)
