Details:
Stephen R. Duhart is an enormously hard working and creative talent. Duhart grew up on the streets of St. Louis, and traveled with a group of musicians that have all gone on to successful careers in music. The St. Louis music scene of the 1980s and 1990s continues to be a source of inspiration to Duhart as he continues to do it all: write, arrange, perform, produce, engineer and promote in nearly all genres of music. Mid Life Pisces is Duhart''s latest destination in a musical journey that shows no sign of fatigue. Mid Life Pisces is a Duhart "tour-de-force" in that Duhart, with a few noted exceptions, has written all the songs, performed all the instruments, produced, arranged and recorded this album entirely by himself.
Duhart''s early influences included Marvin Gaye, Led Zepplin and Frank Zappa, among many others. You will hear the influences of each of these renown musicians on Mid Life Pisces. In addition to traditional music, Duhart has long employed the spoken word as an element of his musical output. This tendency resurfaces in Mid Life Pisces.
Mid Life Pisces is a shining example of what Duhart does so well. It is a rich, dense tapestry of sounds, evoking moods of introspection, peace, serenity, political awareness and hope.
Most recently, Duhart has been involved in the business of music as the Officer-in-Charge of Daily Operations for JJB Music, a small music company he helped establish. He has virtually done it all for JJB Music, including produce hit records for JJB''s stable of artists, write, arrange and engineer for many of the artists and sessions, then step out into the corporate jungle and promote the fruits of his efforts. His musical endeavors simply know no bounds.
What makes Mid Life Pisces so special is that in the last few years, Duhart has been so hard at work "behind the scenes" that he has not had the time to create an album of his own music. Mid Life Pisces is that album. It is a gift. Enjoy.
