“More Joy to the World”.
This disc is a compilation of performances from “Joy to the World with Bob Thompson”, a Christmas show recorded live at the Cultural Center in Charleston, and broadcast each year on Public Radio International, and the Voice of America. The November 28, 2007 release date is timed to coincide with the upcoming fifteenth annual edition of Joy to the World. This recording features jazzy renditions of holiday songs by the Bob Thompson Unit from the years 2000 to 2006. It also features a performance by the Appalachian Children’s Chorus with special guest vocalist Toni Lynn Washington.
“More Joy to the World” features Bob Thompson, piano, Doug Payne, saxophone, Ryan Kennedy, guitar, Tim Courts, drums, and John Inghram, Chris Allen, and Dwayne Dolphin on bass.
