Like a scene straight out of Lou Reed''s Transformer, John Michael and Nathan met on the street in 1998, outside of Dick''s bar in the East Village. John Michael was wearing a provocative outfit with synthentic hair and Nathan was dressed in skintight mesh. The name DUKE was the obvious choice: masculine and powerful, yet glamorous and feminine, alluding to a time when men were beautiful.
DUKE and producer Bryan Ogden''s crisp, glossy sound, laden with filthy flourishes of guitar and synthesizer, is nasty enough for the fickle New York club scene yet screaming for pop audiences worldwide.
This fall Europe will be turned upside down and love it, with the release of the single ''Penthouse Hell'' as well as a full-on punked out dance pop performances in every major city. The Hell on Heels Tour begins this October!
