Young Wayne born Duane Taylor on (February 16, 1984) who is originally born in Jamaica. Moved to Brooklyn and then shortly after raised in Philadelphia for his teenage life and present. Young Wayne Carries many styles but is now known for his alternative smooth but raspy slow flow. Music has been a part of my life since as far back as I can remember It wasnt long before he started on making his own sounds. Young Wayne started out rapping with friend Chris and began to lay down their own rhymes at the age of 12. In years to come a group was formed with an added member, Pate-O, another close friend of Young Wayne. The group was called Da-Field stemming from the Wynnefield section of West Philly where the three are from. When the group fell apart and went their separate ways, Young Wayne was left to do his own music. His ultimate plan: to bring a new fresh form of hip hop to the scene. Young Wayne mixes his Jamaican background with a political yet lively form of hip hop integrating his alternative music styles as well. When asked about who were the artists he found to have inspired him to raise out of the crowd and take the stage range from Mos Def and Nas to Buju Banton and Ace of Base. Young Wayne is here to continue the Hip Hop roots yet turn heads like Kanye West in the New Age. Although those are some of the artist mentioned they do not influence what he writes. In order to bring out my own originality I needed to discover my own influence. What inspires you to walk your walk? What inspires you to wake every morning and continue?
