Details:
I hold a Bachelor degree in Theory and Composition, and a Masters degree in Music Journalism; both in Tirana, Albania. I started guitar at age 13, which became a real passion for music in general, and composition in particular. My first songs came when I was 15-16 years old. Almost at the same time I wrote classical music as well. At age 18, I won my first award as the best band of the capital where I was songwriter, arranger, and guitarist.

After I finished my music studies in college, the communist government, at the time, condemned me for my opinions about western music and sentenced me to an isolated village far from my music, family, and friends. 6 years later, I returned to the capital after winning in a music journalism contest on National Radio Television and received a position in the Music Department. My hope for music was rejuvenated. I restarted writing songs after songs until I arrived to the highest point in my career: the spring contest of 1988 when I won (from popular vote) the first national award for the song “Don''t Rush.” Next year, at the same contest, I won as a runner up, with the song “The Sailor.” My last first place award, before I left my country, was the ballade song “The Snow Doesn''t Mean To Melt.”

Passing through Italy, I immigrated first in France, than to Belgium, like one of my songs later will say “walk and walk without end,” finally stopping in the United States, where I was accepted as a political refugee for my activity as an underground composer in Albania.

Shortly after moving to the United States, I became an ASCAP member, while keeping my membership as a composer in SABAM (Belgium). After 3 years living in the United States I have had my first publishing agreement with SRH publishing company (California, US) for the song “Money Go ''Way” (1999). In the year 2000, I had another publishing deal with the DSM Producers (New York, US) for my “Woodwind Quartet” (classical work in 3 movements). Also in 2002, one of my children songs “The Elephant At The Dentist,” was broadcast on National TV and Cable (Belgium). All of these agreements did not work well. I got disappointed, frustrated, angry... but finally I got my “best publisher” leukemia, the cancer, which was diagnosed on September 2003. Anyway, I continue fighting with both my hands, one for music and one for leukemia. That''s all folks.
